The Air We Breathe

Jun 28, 2010 2 Comments by

If you were to look up on Wikipedia right now to the 10 oldest people on the planet recorded to date that is. You would find 7 out of 10 live in mountainous areas.

What has that got to do with their age you may ask? Well not only have their lifestyles and the fact they took care of themselves through proper nutrition and exercise help them to get old plus the fact of being born blessed with a healthy metabolism, but it is also about the air.

Of the air that we breathe only about 18 to 22% is oxygen, approximately 70 to 75% is nitrogen and the rest is pollutants that we genius’s of the planet have contributed to our own downfall.
In mountainous areas there is less pollution and a higher level of oxygen and nitrogen in the air giving the human body more of what it needs to sustain itself.

Whenever you have many trees and vegetation there is a higher content of oxygen in the air. Trees and vegetation give off oxygen. Remember a higher level of oxygen is better for the blood. Oxygen is what is needed by the blood. Also drinking beverages that give the blood more oxygen is essential.

I will talk about anti-oxidant drinks and their oxygen radical activation credits to the bloodstream in one of my future posts so stay tuned for more info.

But it’s not just about the oxygen it’s also about nitrogen. It’s the nitrogen in the air that we breathe that sparks the neurotransmitters of the brain to send messages to the rest of the body telling it what to do.

So when the bloodstream is blocked in one of the arteries you are restricting your body from getting oxygen and nitrogen which is needed for proper body function. That is why making sure you are supplementing your body with anti-oxidants is of utmost importance to your bloodstream.

I do not take a lot of supplements though I strongly believe in Carnitine for the heart, vitamins C, D and E daily if you’re not a juicer, as well folic acid and magnesium. But if I was truly going to recommend one of the best antioxidants on the planet for the blood it would be MonaVie. I take it regularly and that little berry from Brazil is amazing.
