If you have ever had a heart scare or a stroke then please take this article to heart. From my heart to yours listen closely please. I had to write this important article since heart disease is the number one killer of mankind today.
I have to get to the point of talking about supplements because it could be a life or death situation for many people. First of all I am an avid juicer and will be to the day I die which will be around 100 I hope, the good Lord willing. I am a realist though and have come to the plain truth that not all people will adhere to my principles and thoughts on making your own juice with a juicing-machine. So lets talk about supplements.
There are four supplements I would highly recommend especially if you’ve ever had a heart scare or surgery. Carnitine, magnesium, folic acid, and vitamin E. Now since I’m an avid juicer I get most of these in my diet but you probably don’t get enough of these in your diet, so supplements is the way to go.
First off let’s start with carnitine. Carnitine is a natural substance found in almost every cell of the human body. The body does produce it yet with age the body slows down on the production and delivery of it to your cells. Carnitine is manufactured by our liver and kidneys out of 2 amino acids – lysine and methionine. Carnitine is said to protect the heart muscle against ischemia or reduced blood flow and cellular damage due to lack of oxygen to the heart. Carnitines’ main function is to carry fuel ( fatty acids ) to our cells through the outer mitochondrial membrane so that they can be turned into energy. Carnitine is the injector that fuels the engine to roar at an acceptable rpm.
Now we have magnesium. Magnesium is responsible for the activation of over 300 enzymes in the human body. Remember, enzymes are the cataclysts for the rejuvenation of damaged cells within the human body. Furthermore enzymes are the spark plugs of all the bio-chemical reactions within the human body. Magnesium is also responsible for the management of calcium, potassium and sodium in our bodies. Magnesium is what keeps your heart beating regularly and keeps your blood pressure stable. Furthermore magnesium is also what makes your blood clot properly. In a sense it reduces the ability of platelets to clump together according to Stephen DeFelice a heart surgeon who wrote the book ” The Carnitine Defense.”
What about folic acid? Folic acid is crucial for the development and repair of damaged DNA and RNA component of our genes and chromosomes. Folic acid fights heart disease by breaking down homo-cysteine so it can be cleared from our system. Folic acid is found in many green vegetables such as spinach, green beans, broccoli, chick peas and many other foods. The problem is we don’t eat enough of those foods to get the amount of nutrition from them that our bodies need.
I saved the best for last, vitamin E. I could go on and on about vitamin E but most of all I want to say heart, heart and heart again, not to mention skin and glands and arteries. Basically vitamin E fights plaque formation in your arterial walls so that your arteries remain clean and clear of all obstructions. Most people don’t know this but a lack of Vitamin E in the human body can actually make you sterile. Doctors Herbert M. Evans and Katherine S. Bishop in 1922 did a clinical study of the reproduction of rats and the importance of vitamin E. The male rats became permanently sterile that were deprived of vitamin E.
If you are not going to start juicing then start taking some supplements, your body will thank you, trust me as one who has been on death’s doorstep and learned a great deal about the body in a short period time.
