Since I see many people in life going through depression due to their circumstances or their makeup whether they think they are too skinny, fat, ugly or whatever else is holding you into bondage. I call it bondage because I too fell prey to the great deception from my brain, I was no good, would never amount to anything, was a total failure since my wife left me. Though it is true she left me, I lost four properties, money and almost died to Cirrhosis of the Liver. It was the best thing that ever happened to me.
The reason I say it was the best thing that ever happened to me is because I learned one valuable lesson through all the suffering and pain. That others are more important than me. Once I looked at life from a different perspective, a servant type heart instead of to be served a whole new world, no, a whole new universe opened up for me. I am not the centre of the Universe but rather a simple vessel that God wants to use and work through if only I will let him.
In the business world they call it a Paradigm. Within the big picture are many small pictures. When we are going through those small pictures in our lives that we don’t understand nor appreciate at that moment, they are necessary in our growth as individuals. Those hardships in our lives are to purify us and make us strong. As gold must go through the furnace of fire to solidify and purify it so that it may be made pure and strong, beautiful to behold, so must we likewise endure and bear and overcome so that we too may be made strong. It is only then that we can help out others who are going through like trials in their lives.
Who can best counsel someone going through Cancer but someone who has been there, or someone who is addicted to alcohol, drugs or gambling but someone who has been there, or someone who has suffered from depression for years as I have. I only looked at my circumstance in life instead of the fact that maybe God had something to teach me in all of this.
I want to talk about the Mind here for a moment. Your Mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy if you listen to it. Many people often use the term Mind over Matter well that is only a partial truth. The Mind is not something that operates independantly of itself from the Body. The Mind is a very complex thing and must be nourished and cherished and fed the proper food otherwise rot and decay start to occur. The Mind and the Body are not 2 separate entities operating independantly of each other but rather one cohesive unit whereby the health of the one is subject to the maintenance of the other. Please listen to what I am saying very clearly. I will repeat myself because it is of utmost importance ” the health of the one is subject to the maintenance of the other “.
I want to give you an illustration of what I am talking about so that it hits home. When my wife left me I totally wanted to die, felt like a total loser and a failure and saw no hope in living. So what did I do, I started drinking myself to an oblivion. My mind told me I was a failure so I drank to kill the pain which made me feel even more of a failure and now I could not stop. I got Cirrhosis of the Liver and my doctor said you only have 2 to 3 weeks to live maximum. He said you have to quit drinking for sure Tom, that is your only hope. Even then I do not think your body will heal itself, your liver, kidneys and pancreas are in pretty bad shape. So I listened to Dr. Ziter, Thank you my friend.
In my journeys I am introduced to a man named Chuck whom I confided that I was dying with only 2 to 3 weeks to live. He looked at me and said you’re not going to die if you just do what I tell you to do. Don’t drink and listen to others, start making your own juice from fruit and vegetables. Furthermore you are going to do some Colonics ( Colon Flushes ) and your body will heal itself. You see Chuck was a Juicer and turned me onto Norman Walker who was a Doctor and a Naturaopath. Dr. Walker believed in the body’s innate ability to heal itself and so I read and I read and I read. But not only did I read but I put into practice what he said in all his books.
Well I’m still alive and well today and if it was not for my wife leaving me I would not have probably gotten deathly sick to the point where I can now show others what I have learned. If my mind was healthy my body would have a chance of being healthy but since it was not, now my body suffered too. Yes to the point where I almost totally destroyed my liver which in turn almost killed me. Again I repeat myself ” the health of the one is subject to the maintenance of the other.” The mind and the body are not two seperate entities they are one. Nutrition for the Brain is so very important if you want your body to be healthy too.
The point I am making here is simple, God knows the big picture ( The Paradigm ) but you and I do not. As we are going through all those hardships in life ( the little pictures ) just say ” what are you trying to teach me here Lord “? He knows the beginning from the end yet we do not, we just have to trust him that he will carry us through. Seek out those persons who are going through like trials like your self and listen to what they have to say.
I leave you with this simple saying ” Life is something that just happens when we are all too busy making plans. “
My advice to you if you are going through Depression, Pray, Trust God to Carry you through and seek others help especially those who have gone through what you are going through. Also make sure you are eating properly especially lots of fruit and vegetables and make sure you are drinking lots of spring water and getting lots of sleep. Nutrition and Sleep are so very important. It is a proven fact that certain growth hormones are released from the brain between 10:00 pm and 2:00 am which are necessary for a child’s growth and health. Make sure you are getting at least 6 to 8 hours per day of sleep.
Today I am blessed to have almost died so that I may help others learn what I have. In a sense I had to die before I started to live.
Thank You Doctor Ziter, Frank DeAngeles, Jim Harkins and all of my many anonymous friends for all your counsel. Love you all, God Bless.
